WE SUPPORT MEADOWLANDS AND FARMS
WITH NOÉ

We owe so much to plants, and they in turn owe so much to pollinating insects - and more generally to the diversity of nature on Earth. It therefore seemed natural to support the Noé non-profit organisation, whose mission is to safeguard biodiversity, principally through programmes to preserve endangered species and their habitats. Our commitment alongside the organisation focusses on two areas which reflect our common concerns.

A. The Noé meadowlands. Urban sprawl and the spread of intensive agriculture have led to a decrease in French meadowlands. However, they are an essential refuge, reproduction zone and food source for pollinating insects, which are in turn indispensable to biodiversity. Since 2009 Noé has therefore been creating spaces that are friendly to bees, wasps, hoverflies, butterflies and other pollinating insects, in agricultural areas and around infrastructures, such as roads, railways, and airports. Together, we sow them with wildflowers and appropriate "eco-regional" seed mixes.

B. Noé farms. Farmlands cover more than 50% of metropolitan France. The way they are managed therefore plays a major role in preserving biodiversity. Together with Noé, our ambition is to promote and train key local players in agroecology techniques, to enhance understanding and respect of the equilibria within the ecosystem. The practice is based on several principles, some of which are age-old traditions: the diversification of crops, landscapes and consequently natural habitats; a drastic reduction in the use of agrochemicals, and protecting soil with a natural covering.
